OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE . . .
Director of Christian Education: Rev. Renee Kaufman
The Board of Christian Education works to provide a wide range of activities to encourage spiritual growth throughout our church family. The Christian Education Committee is comprised of nine elected members, and is responsible for all of the religious education programs of the church. In addition, they maintain the Sunday School ministry and the Junior, Senior and Children’s PYF (Pilgrim Youth Fellowship), coordinate our Christmas Pageant, support the mission activities of the church, and provide our annual Vacation Bible School program.
Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers during our worship service. (Age 3 and under) The volunteer staff works on a rotating schedule so that they all become familiar to the children.
Our Sunday School classes include Pre-school thru Teens and follow the Cornerstone Curriculum that is based on the Multiple Intelligence Theory of Learning. The classes meet weekly at 10:00 AM during the regular worship services from September through June. During the summer, Children Pre K age and up are invited to join the congregation for worship. There are “Packets of Fun” for those that may get a bit restless!
Vacation Bible School
Every year, during the first full week after school gets out, we have a one-week Vacation Bible School full of fun activities for the children. The children enjoy a fantastic, faithfilled week doing crafts, learning bible stories, learning new songs and singing old favorites, doing science experiments and playing games. Many adults and youth from the church family serve as volunteer “guides” for the week.
